Quality time in road construction projects should be maintained

Ranchi, Jun 24 (FN Representative) Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday said that quality and time should be maintained in road construction projects. Chairing a review meeting of the road construction department he said that pending projects should be completed on time and while deciding the new ones their utility should be also considered. He instructed the officials to make dedicated roads in the minning areas.

The Chief Minister said that while making such roads it should be kept in mind that they do not impact densely populated areas and villages. The department informed that on some of the roads toll plazas have been proposed for which survey of 4856 kilometres of 425 roads has been done. On this the Chief Minister said that roads for toll plazas should be selected in such a manner that they do not cause any burden to the people. He further said that these roads should be off good quality while estimate regarding the revenues to be generated should also be prepared.

He said that there was huge potential to develop an industrial corridor on the Gobindpur-Jamtara-Dumka-Sahebganj road and asked the officials to identify such places where were houses, logistics centres and industries can be set up as the road can become a life line for the Santhal Pargana region.
