Four arrested for bag snatc

Nanded, May 26 (Agency) A team of Local Crime Branch of police arrested four accused for allegedly snatching a bag worth Rs 14.80 lakh from a trader at Hingoli Gate flyover in the city at gunpoint, today. Police also seized Rs 3. 41 lakh and a two-wheeler used in the crime from the accused. Search is on for the two accused who will be arrested and the remaining amount will be confiscated, informed Superintendent of Police Pramod Kumar Shewale, in a press conference,today. On May 10, Om Borlewar, proprietor of Yogesh Trading in New Mondha, was on his way to Chikhalwadi Corner from Hingoli Gate flyover to deposit Rs 14.80 lakh.

As soon as his two-wheeler reached the middle of the flyover, the accused riding a two-wheeler behind him threatened him with a gun and snatched the bag containing the amount and fled. Superintendent of Police Pramod Kumar Shewale, additional SPs Nilesh More and Vijay Kabade directed inspector Dwarkadas Chikhlikar of LCB to probe into the matter. The team seized all the CCTV footage from the crime scene and other technical details from the intelligence. It was revealed that servant Umesh Yadav, who works in the shop of a trader Borlewar, gave tips of transactions to his friend accused Sonu Hiralal Rindakwale. With three other accomplices they plotted to loot the money from the trader.

As per their plan the accused Sheikh Abu alias Avej and two other accomplices snatched the bag from Borlewar. Police arrested four accused in the case and seized Rs 3.41 lakh in cash and a two-wheeler used in the crime, Shewale said. On producing before the court of Chief Justice all four accused were remanded in police custody for three days.
