Five criminals involved in series of lootings held by CP

Bhubaneswar, May 5 (Representative) The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police today arrested five veteran criminals creating terror in the twin cities for the last four months. Police Commissioner Saumendra Priyadarshi said the criminals were arrested by the Special squad with the assistance of Khandagiri and Sahidnagar Police. He identified the criminals as —Shankar Das, Jaganath, Sushant Guru, Ganesh Marty and Sudam Nayak.

Mr Priyadarshi said police seized 19 gold chains weighing 200 grams,6.2 KG of silver ornaments, Rs 13,600 in cash, two motorcycles and some sharp weapons from their possession. The Commissioner of Police said the criminals were attacking morning walkers and persons walking alone with sharp weapons and looting them. The five criminals were involved in 25 criminal cases,18 cases in Bhubaneswar and 7 cases in Cuttack.
