Eleven migrants booked for duping Sarihn villager of Rs 5.78 lakhs

Nakodar, Apr 8 (Agency) The Nakodar sadar police have booked eleven migrants on the charge of duping a Sarihn village resident of Rs 5.78 lakhs. The investigating officer (IO) and Station House Officer inspector Vinod Kumar said the accused have been identified as Jabar of New Dehli,Sahil Khan Nadim Khan Mosin, residents of Uttarakhand ,Raja,Aslam,Armaan Khan ,Nausir all residents of Uttar Pradesh ,Malik Ram and Mohamad Yasin of Haryana and Mohammad Anwar of Rajasthan.

Balram Singh Sandhu, a resident of Sarihn village complained to Jalandhar (Rural) senior superintendent of police that the accused approached him through an Instagram ID and lured him to encash claim of $ 50, 00,000 fixed deposit of the deceased Abaas Baltran and cheated him of Rs 5,78,196. IO said a case under section 120-B (criminal conspiracy) and 420(cheating) of the IPC and sections 66-C and 66-D of the Information Technology Act has been registered against the accused after an inquiry by cyber cell.
