Flushing Meadow (New York), Sep 5 (Agency) India’s Rohan Bopanna and his Croatian partner Ivan Dodig defeated Arthur Rinderknech of France and Hugo Nys of Monaco 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 in the men’s doubles second round of the US Open at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Seeded 13th, Rohan-Ivan served seven aces and committed five double faults in comparison to six aces and four double faults by Arhur and Hugo in the match which lasted 56 minutes.
The duo of Indo-Croatian committed 17 unforced errors while Arhur and Hugo made 14 unforced errors. The Indo-Croatian pair won three of three breakpoints while the duo of Arhur and Hugo could win two out of five breakpoints which came their way. In the third round, Rohan-Ivan will cross swords with fourth-seeded pair of Rajeev Ram of USA, whose parents belong to Chennai and Joe Salisbury of United Kingdom.
