Tendulkar, Yuvraj to feature in friendly match at Sathya Sai Grama

Bengaluru, Jan 11 (FN Agency) Legendary cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and Yuvraj Singh among others will feature in a friendly match on January 18 at Sri Sathya Sai Grama at Muddenahalli. The match is being played to mark the inauguration of a newly-built Sai Krishnan Cricket Stadium at Sathya Sai Grama, and it is organised by Sri Madhusudan Sai Global Humanitarian Mission (SMSGHM). Union Minister Pralhad Joshi will inaugurate the stadium in the presence of cricketing legend Sunil Gavaskar, who continues to bat even today but in a different role for the cause of the needy served by the SMSGHM. “Cricket is more than just a sport; it is a powerful platform that unites people from all walks of life. Over the years, I have witnessed the immense power of sports to bring people together and make a positive impact on society. This unique friendship match aims to leverage the popularity of cricket to draw attention to the pressing issues faced by the underprivileged of our society, and the great work being done by Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai in the spirit of One World One Family – Vasudhaiva Kuṭumbakam,” Gavaskar stated.

Other legendary cricketers who will play the match are Harbhajan Singh, Irfan Pathan, Muthaiah Muralitharan, Chamninda Vaas, RP Singh, Monty Panesar, Venkatesh Prasad and Danny Morrison.Also gracing the occasion will be a few Indian players who were part of the 1983 World Cup-winning side.
