The FIA ERC at Tet Rally Liep?ja is a treat for speed lovers and is run over 12 stages and 181.28 km. Sesks – who hails from the host city – was simply untouchable aboard his Skoda Fabia Rally2. The 22-year-old, along with his Team MRF Tyres colleagues, debuting a brand new tyre from the Indian manufacturer, wasted no time in showcasing its performance. He delivered a faultless drive on the high-speed gravel speed tests, winning all the 12 stages to secure a dominant victory. The brainchild of driver turned promoter Raimonds Strokšs and first run to great acclaim in 2013, Rally Latvia (previously Rally Liep?ja) was a winter event but switched to autumn in 2016 for more guaranteed weather. The new date made for an all-new rally as crews adjusted to gravel roads free of snow and ice. Although the time of year had changed, the high-speed stages in western Latvia continued to thrill drivers and fans.
