Agartala, Oct 25 (FN Agency) Sikkim qualified for the Senior Women’s National Football Championship for the Rajmata Jijabai Trophy from Group G after an emphatic 7-0 triumph over Chandigarh at the Umakanta Mini Stadium here. Sikkim finished with an all-win record in the four-team group scoring 17 goals and without conceding any. Against Chandigarh, they led 4-0 at half time.While Samjana Rai and Suju Hangma Limboo scored two goals each, Ongden Lepcha, Simran Gurung and Priya Chettri were the other scorers on Thursday. In the other match of Group G, Gujarat beat Tripura 3-0 to finish with six points.
Misbabanu Sindhi (penalty), Khushbu Saroj (penalty) and Mausami Urang (own goal) were the scorers. With this, the qualification rounds of the Rajmata Jijabai Trophy came to an end. The eight group winners will join last year’s champions Manipur and runners-up Haryana in the final rounds to be played from December 1. The following are the group winners: Tamil Nadu (Group A), West Bengal (Group B), Railways (Group C), Maharashtra (Group D), Punjab (Group E), Odisha (Group F), Sikkim (Group G) and Jharkhand (Group H).
