Baku, June 3 (Agency) Olympian rifle shooter Anjum Moudgil and men’s rifle team won silver medals, taking India’s tally to four at the ongoing ISSF Shooting world cup here on Friday.Anjum lost 12-16 to Denmark’s Rikke Maeng Ibsen in the women’s 50m Women’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions gold medal match. She has shot 587 in the qualification to make her way to the finals.In the final ranking round, Ibsen and Moudgil finished first and second respectively to qualify for the gold medal clash.In the 50m Rifle 3 Positions men’s team event, the trio of Goldi Gurjar, Swapnil Kusale and olympian Deepeak Kumar settled for a silver after losing the gold medal match to Croatians 7-17.
The Indians finished second in the first qualification stage with 1311 points behind Croatia, who topped the chart with 1312.In the second qualification stage, India (880) and Croatia (876) placed first and second respectively and sealed the spot for the gold medal clash.India has so far won four medals (1 gold and 3 silver) at the ongoing tournament and is placed third in the medal table.In the ISSF World Cup that features rifle, pistol and shotgun events, National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) has only sent rifle shooters for the event.
