Kolkata, Oct 24 (Agency) The duo of Sanjib Majumdar and Sujit Sadhak led the field at the end in pairs event in the first edition of Shree Cement weekly Bridge championship held on Saturday evening. Sanjib and Sujit finished with 4.65 master points (MPs) and were followed by the Asian Games bronze medalist Sumit Mukherjee, who partnered Ms Monica Jajoo, collecting 4.19 MPs. Another player Amarnath Banerjee partnering R P.Tripathi placed third with 3.77 MPs.
The weekly bridge championship, being organised by the West Bengal Bridge Association for the first time in the state, has attracted 62 pairs from West Bengal and other Indian states many of whom have represented the country in international tournaments. The league will be continued online on every Saturday of the month.
