Kolkata, Sep 16 (Agency) Eleven young and passionate runners from across the country on Thursday morning began their race from this metropolis to cover some 685-kilometre up to Gangtok in Sikkim. The run is a part of K2G – covering a distance in 60 hours approximately, an initiative sponsored by TUTOPIA Learning APP, as the run is day and night to cover a 685 kilometre nonstop relay race namely “Kolkata Gangtok Chase” (K2G).
” The K2G race, was flagged off by Arun Kumar Singh in the wee hours of 16 September 2021, Thursday from Kolkata and the 11 runners would be following a route covering Krishnanagar, Berhampore, Malda, Raiganj, Islampur, Siliguri and finish off at Gangtok,” a statement said. “The idea is to promote health, fitness, mass education and the spirit of adventure. Being healthy and fit is more relevant during Covid times,” said Subrata Roy, Director, Tutopia Learning App. Each runner, on average, would cover 62 kilometres approximately.
