New Delhi, Feb 18 (Agency) Bihar’s Sakibul Gani on Friday became the first player to score a triple century on debut in the Ranji Trophy. Gani amassed 341 runs off 405 deliveries, including 56 boundaries and two sixes, against Mizoram in the plate group match. Resuming on 325/3, Bihar declared the innings on 686/5.
In reply, Mizoram reached 40/3 at stumps, trailing by 646 runs on day-2. On the other hand, Delhi folded for 452 at tea, with Lalit Yadav (177) as the top scorer. In response, Tamil Nadu posted 75/2 at stumps with Kaushik Gandhi (37 not out) and Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore (11 not out). In the Mumbai versus Saurashtra match in Ahmedabad, India Test batter Ajinkya Rahane scored 129 off 290 before Chirag Jani dismissed him. Sarfaraz Khan amassed 275 off 401 before Mumbai declared on 544/7. At stumps, Saurashtra posted 18 for no loss.
