Abu Dhabi, Nov 2 (Agency) Pakistan powered their way to a semifinal berth with their fourth win on the trot, overcoming Namibia by 45 runs. Babar Azam’s men now have a 15-man unbeaten streak in UAE and have a good chance of extending their run with the final Group 2 match against Scotland. After having scored 130 in the last 10 overs, Pakistan set Namibia 190 to win, but it was a mountain too high for them to climb as Pakistan’s bowlers restricted them to 144 for 5 on Tuesday (November 2). Although you wouldn’t have expected Namibia to chase down that total given the quality of Pakistan’s bowlers, they not just batted out the 20 overs, but showed enough fight and promise until the end.
Brief scores: Pakistan 189/2 (Mohammad Rizwan 79, Babar Azam 70, Mohammad Hafeez 32); Namibia 144/5 (Craig Williams 40, David Wiese 43*) by 45 runs.
