MNS damage bus hired for IPL players

Mumbai, Mar 16 (Agency) Incensed over IPL authorities hiring buses from outside the state for the players, Vahatuk Sena, transport wing of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), have allegedly damaged a luxury bus parked outside a five-star hotel in south Mumbai. Speaking to the media on Wednesday, its president Sanjay Naik said that, “Despite our protests, they have allowed several buses and other smaller vehicles here from Delhi and other parts, which is affecting the livelihood of the local people”.

He informed that around half-a-dozen activists of the MNS-Vahatuk Sena sneaked near the bus before midnight on Tuesday, pasted posters of their demands on the front of the bus, raised slogans and smashed the windows of the bus. He also warned the IPL officials asking them to change their decision by this evening otherwise they would damage other buses. Meanwhile, following the incident, three office-bearers of Vahatuk Sena were arrested by the city police for alleged vandalism, police said.
