Mehuli, Tushar bag mixed team gold

Changwon (South Korea), July 13 (FN Agency) India’s Mehuli Ghosh and Shahu Tushar Mane clinched 10m Air Rifle mixed team gold after beating Hungary at the ISSF World Cup here on Wednesday. Mehuli and Tushar registered 17-13 win over Hungarian pair of Eszter Meszaros Istvan Peni to win country second gold of this tournament.In the 60 shots qualification round, the Indian pair scored a total of 634.3 to finish ahead of second-placed Hungary, who scored 630.3 points. Another India pair of Arjun Babuta, who won individual gold in 10m air rifle, and Olympian Elavenil Valarivan, failed to make it to next round after finishing eighth in the qualifications.

In the 10m air pistol mixed team event, Shiva Narwal and Palak pocketed the bronze medal after thumping 16-0 win over Kazakhstan. Shiva and Palak placed third in the qualification with a total of 574to qualify for the bronze medal playoff.The other Indian pair – Naveen and Rhythm Sangwan- scored 570to finish eight in the qualification on Tuesday. India won three medals including 2 golds and a bronze so far in the tournament. A total of 30 gold medals are on offer and about 450 athletes from 43 countries are competing across 30 events.
