Bengaluru, Nov 6 (Representative) A gritty century from Captain Anustup Majumdar anchored Bengal’s innings on Day 1 of their Ranji Trophy match against Karnataka at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, with the visitors reaching 249/5 at stumps. Majumdar’s 101, which included 16 boundaries, was the standout performance of the day, guiding Bengal through a tough early period. Karnataka won the toss and opted to field, and their bowlers responded well, making early breakthroughs. Shuvam Dey (0) was dismissed off the first over, caught behind off Koushik, and Sudip Kumar Gharami (5) soon followed, caught off Koushik as well, leaving Bengal at 21/2 in the 15.2 overs.
