Hyderabad, Dec 23 (Agency) Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday announced changes to their think tank ahead of the next Indian Premier League, bringing in Brian Lara and Dale Steyn on board. The former West Indies batter Lara will join Hyderabad as their strategic advisor and batting coach, while former South Africa fast bowler has been handed the job of pace bowling coach. Tom Moody, who was Hyderabad’s director of cricket last season, returns as the team’s head coach after Trevor Bayliss parted ways with the franchise. The franchise took to Twitter to announce the new support staff.

Moreover, the former Australia batter and coach Simon Katich has been appointed as Hyderabad’s assistant coach. Katich was previously the head coach of the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The ex India batter Hemang Badani has been named the fielding coach and scout, while former Sri Lanka off-spinner Muttiah Muralidaran will continue to serve as spin bowling coach for the upcoming season. Hyderabad retained captain Kane Williamson, and uncapped Umran Malik and Abdul Samad ahead of the mega auction of the cash-rich tournament.
