Indian archers all set for Asian Archery Championship in Bangladesh

Dhaka, Nov 12 (Agency) The 16-member Indian contingent is all geared up to take the range for the Asian Archery Championships 2021 to be held here from Saturday. Pravin Jadhav is the lone Olympian in the 16 member squad who will take part in the competition from November 13 to 19. Along with Jadhav, national champion Parth Salunkhe, Sukhchain Singh and Kapil are other members in men’s recurve team, while reigning youth champion Komalika Bari accompanied with Ankita Bhakat, Ridhi Phor and Madhu Vedwan will be in action in the women’s recurve events. In compound events, Jyothi Surekha Vennam, who bagged Silver in the World championship held in Yankton earlier this year, will lead the women’s pack.

Muskan Kirar, Priya Gurjar and Parneet Kaur are the other archers who will compete in the compound women’s event. Two-time World Cup gold medallist Abhishek Verma along with Rishabh Yadav, Aman Saini and Rohit will be featured in the compound men’s team. As many as 131 archers including 53 women from 17 countries will compete in ten events of week-long continental meet in Bangladesh. Ten events in the Asian championships are- Recurve Men’s team, Recurve Women’s team, Recurve Men’s singles, Recurve Women’s singles, Recurve mixed team, Compound men’s team, Compound women’s team, Compound men’s singles, Compound women’s singles and Compound mixed team.
