Ulaanbataar, April 20 (Agency) Sachin Sahrawat and Harpreet Singh won bronze medals on Day-2 of the Asian Wrestling Championships as India finished Greco-Roman campaign with five medals here at the Buyant Ukhaa Sports Palace on Wednesday. While Sahrawat beat Mahmud Bakhshilloev of Uzbekistan 6-3 in the dying moment of the 67kg bout, Harpreet bagged bronze medal in the 82kg category after his opponent Jafar Khan of Qatar forfeited due to an injury.
The other Indian in action, Gyanender (60kg) lost to Iranian wrestler via technical superiority 0-9 in the quarterfinal. On the opening day, former Asian champion Sunil Kumar (87kg ), Arjun Halakurki (55kg ) and Neeraj (63kg) clinched bronze. Sunil defeated local wrestler Batbayar Lutbayar by technical superiority 9-1, Arjun beat Mongolia’s Davaabandi Munkh Erdene 10-7, and Neeraj defeated Islomjon Bakhramov from Uzbekistan 7-4 in the bronze medal contest.
