India to host Afghanistan for ODI series

Kabul, Dec 13 (Agency) India will host Afghanistan for three-match One-Day International series in March next year, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced on Monday. The ACB put out their Future Tour Program (FTP) for 2022-23, which includes a total of 37 ODIs, 12 T20Is and 3 Tests to be played in the next two years. Afghanistan’s FTP includes 18 home and 34 away matches, Asia Cup 2022, ICC T20 World Cup 2022, Asia Cup 2023 and ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Afghanistan will host the Netherlands (3 ODIs, January 2022), Australia (3 T20Is, May-June 2022), Pakistan (3 ODIs, February-March, 2023), Australia (3 ODIs, March-April 2023), the West Indies (3 ODIs, September 2023, and New Zealand (3 ODIs, September 2023).

Meanwhile, Afghanistan will tour Zimbabwe (3 ODIs and 5 T20Is, January-February 2022), Bangladesh (3 ODIs and 2 T20Is, February-March 2022), India (3 ODIs, March 2022), Ireland (5 ODIs and 1 Test, July-August 2022), Zimbabwe (5 ODIs, 2 T20Is and 2 Tests, November-December 2022), and Sri Lanka (3 ODIs, January 2023). The ACB top management alongside the cricket operations team of the Afghanistan Cricket Board are in regular negotiations with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to reschedule the postponed three-match ODI series between February-March 2023. The series was scheduled in September 2021 but was postponed indefinitely due to logistical challenges. Afghanistan Cricket Board is also in talks with other cricket nations to arrange more bilateral matches for their national team, as part of the ICC FTP, which will be announced in due course.
