Mumbai, Dec 6 (Agency) Team India reclaimed the No. 1 spot in the ICC Test team rankings after winning the two-match series against New Zealand on Monday. India registered a mammoth 372-run victory over Blackcaps on fourth day of the second Test to clinch the series by 1-0. The spin duo Jayant Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin scalped four wickets each to seal the biggest ever win. The Virat Kohli-led side earned 3465 points to take the top spot in the rankings table, followed by New Zealand with 3021 points and Australia with 1844 points.
After clinching the series against New Zealand, India stand third in the ICC World Test Championship table with 58.33 win percentage and 42 points. However, Sri Lanka hold the top spot with 100 win percentage, while Pakistan sit on second position with 66.66 win percentage. India will now prepare for their tour to South Africa for a three-match Test series followed by three One-Day Internationals, which is slated to begin from December 26. While New Zealand will host Bangladesh for two Test matches, later this month.
