Imwa reach semi-finals after defeating British High Commission team

New Delhi, Sep 12 (Agency) In the final league match of the Diplomatic Cup, organized by the Ministry of External Affairs, government of India, the Indian media team defeated the British High Commission team by 81 runs to enter the semi-finals. The British High Commission won the toss and decided to field first. Indian Media Welfare Association (Imwa) openers Shivam Tripathi and Chirag Gothi gave a good start. Tripathi made 50 off 34 balls and Gothi scored 68 runs in 50 balls, Imwa scored 162 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 5 wickets.

Rajesh Mehta scored 24 runs in 21 balls. On behalf of the British High Commission XI, Atul took three wickets for 22 runs in 4 overs. While playing, British High Commission scored only 81 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Anthony Das scored 16 runs for 25 balls and Pawan scored 16 runs in 14 balls. Shivam Tripathi took 3 for 9 in 4 overs for Imva, the same off-spinner Vritik Varshney showed the way to the pavilion for 3 players for 12 runs in 4 overs. Gaurav Saini 2 and Mukesh Shukla took 1 wicket. Imwa’s entry into the semi-finals was confirmed.
