Hockey India continues its extensive Match Officials Education & Development Plan

New Delhi, May 18 (Representative) Hockey India has launched its Match Officials Education & Development Plan as part of the induction programme for Potential Umpires and Technical Officials in the Hockey India officiating system. This initiative aims to develop and educate the current officials officiating at district or state level tournaments, providing them with an opportunity to progress to the status of Hockey India registered National Umpire/Technical Official. The educational plan will provide officials with the opportunity to advance and be inducted into the Hockey India officiating system. This initiative will initially enable them to officiate in Hockey India sanctioned All India Sub Junior & Junior category Tournaments & National Championships. Notably, selected officials will receive interactive learning and study material, keeping them updated with the latest FIH rules and regulations.

They will be assessed by a highly experienced team of Hockey India registered Technical Delegates/Umpire Managers.Based on their assessments by experienced Hockey India registered Technical Delegates/Umpire Managers, they will have the opportunity to upgrade themselves and be eligible to attend the Hockey India Zonal Level Courses. Furthermore, they will be eligible to attend FIH Academy & AHF Courses and workshops. Hockey India President Dr Dilip Kumar Tirkey said, “This initiative portrays Hockey India’s commitment towards strengthening the officiating standards in Indian hockey. By providing comprehensive education and assessment, we aim to elevate the quality and professionalismof our Umpires and Technical Officials.

It’s our responsibility to ensure that our officials are well-equipped with the latest knowledge and skills to perform their duties effectively at both nationaland international levels.” Hockey India Secretary General Bhola Nath Singh added, “The State Level Courses will offer a fantastic platform for aspiring officials to hone their skills and advance their careers. We are committed to nurturing talent and ensuring the highest standards of officiating in our sport. We encourage all eligible officials to take advantage of this opportunity and look forward to seeingthem excel in their roles.” Registrations for the course begin on May 17.
