Doha, Nov 30 (Agency) The World Cup Group E match between Costa Rica and Germany on Thursday will make football history when it becomes the first game in a men’s World Cup to be officiated by an all-female refereeing team. French referee Stephanie Frappart will be in the middle, after being the fourth official for the Poland vs Mexico match early in the tournament.
She has been on the FIFA referees list since 2009 and has already officiated in several important matches. The 38-year-old Frenchwoman will be assisted by Brazilian Neuza Back and Mexican Karen Diaz. Salima Mukansanga of Rwanda and Yamashita Yoshimi of Japan are also officiating in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
