First Delhi Police badminton “Esprit de corps” championship inaugurated

New Delhi, Oct 29 (Agency) Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai on Friday inaugurated First Delhi Police badminton “esprit de corps” Championship – 2021 at KD Jadhav Indoor Halls, IGI Stadium Complex. As the nation is celebrating 75th Anniversary of Indian independence as Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Delhi Police is hosting a badminton championship from October 29 to 31, as a part of the festivity, said Delhi Police.

Speaking on the occasion, Rai emphasized that sports play an important role in overall personality development of an individual, besides being a great stress buster. It was heartening to note that Delhi Police can organize such mega sports events, besides serving the society and giving valuable contribution in nation building. The Chief Guest, Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana expressed gratitude on behalf of the force for sharing his valuable time to encourage the sportsmen. More than 400 shuttlers from 51 teams, including Delhi Police, CRPF, BSF, State Armed Police Forces, Rajasthan Armed Constabulary, Nagaland Armed Police, Sikkim Police, Tripura State Rifles and Meghalaya Police are participating in the tournament, said Delhi Police.
