Geneva, May 17 (Agency) The FIFA Technical Leadership Diploma was unveiled in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, by FIFA, aiming to standardize the technical work of its member associations, FIFA announced.”Currently, there’s no singular award or accreditation that qualifies an individual as a technical leader in a member association,” FIFA Head of Technical Leadership Jamie Houchen was quoted as saying in a press release. “In the hiring process for a technical leader, there lacks a quality benchmark.
We anticipate the FIFA Technical Leadership Diploma will emerge as the globally recognized qualification for technical leaders, thereby fostering the highest quality of graduates to spearhead football worldwide,” he added. The inaugural six-day workshop, the first of four modules over an 18-month period, drew 25 participants from member associations and confederations worldwide. The curriculum encompasses areas such as technical leadership, high performance, coach education, amateur football, and management, with FIFA aiming to establish a “globally recognized qualification” for technical leaders.
