Deaflympics: Dhananjay, Prithvi pair bag silver

Caxias do Sul (Brazil), May 13 (Agency) The men’s pair of Prithvi Sekhar and Dhananjay Dubey clinch silver medal in tennis doubles event at the ongoing Deaflympics as India’s medal tally reached to 12, including 7 golds, a silver and 4 bronze.

The Indian duo lost 6-7(5), 2-6 to the Frenchmen Mikael Alix Laurent and Vincent Novelli in the summit clash on Thursday. Enroute to the final, Prithvi and Dhananjay defeated Argentina’s Mateo Jesus and Nicolas Gustavo 6-4, 6-0 in the semifinal after ousting Nicolas Serge and Maxime Sanchez 6-0, 6-1 in the quarterfinal.
