Australia keep McDonald as Coach through 2027

Sydney, Oct 30 (FN Agency) Australia’s national men’s cricket team will be under the continued leadership of head coach Andrew McDonald for at least three more years, following his contract extension signed on Wednesday.This new agreement will keep McDonald at the helm until the end of 2027.Since taking over from Justin Langer in 2022, McDonald has led Australia through a successful period, culminating in the team’s historic achievements in 2023. Under his guidance, Australia clinched its first ICC World Test Championship title and the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, marking a golden year for Australian cricket. Looking ahead, McDonald will have the opportunity to defend both trophies, steering the national team through the next complete cycle of the World Test Championship (2025-27) and preparing for the 50-over World Cup in 2027.

Currently, Australia holds the title of the No.1 Test team in the world, while ranking No.2 in both ODI and T20I formats.
