New Delhi, Aug 5 (Agency) For the first time, Aditi Gopichand Swami from the city became world championby beating Andriya Besera (Mexico) with 149-147 points in final round of individual World Archery Championship in Berlin, Germany on Saturday and won gold medal.
Aditi, along with Jyoyti Surekha Vennam and Praneet Kaur, won the country’s first-ever gold medal in a combined group by beating Mexico team by 235-229 points on Friday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated the Indian women’s team for winning the country’s first-ever gold medal in World Archery Championship in Berlin.
