■ 3rd Test, Day 1: England 120/0 at stumps, take 42 runs lead against India

Leeds, Aug 25 (Agency) England were 120/0 at stumps, leading India by 42 runs on the opening day of the third Test of the five-match series, here on Wednesday. At the close of play, openers Haseeb Hameed (60 not out) Rory Burns (52 not out) were at the crease. Earlier, India were bundled out for 78 in their first innings.

James Anderson (3/6) and Craig Overton (3/14) picked three wickets each, while Ollie Robinson (2/16) and Sam Curran (2/21) bagged two each as India got all out in the second session. Rohit Sharma top-scored with his 105-ball 19 for India and the second-highest scorer in that innings was Ajinkya Rahane (18).
