New Delhi, June 6 (Agency) Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday said that the people of the country have rejected the “fascist rule” of the BJP and ‘appropriate steps will be taken at appropriate time’.After an around two-hour long crucial meeting of the INDIA Bloc leaders at Kharge’s residence here, the coalition leaders issued a joint statement. Addressing the media after the meeting, Kharge said, “The people’s mandate has given a befitting reply to the BJP and their politics of hate, corruption and deprivation. This is a mandate in defence of the Constitution of India and against price rise, unemployment and crony capitalism of the Modi government”.He said the INDIA Bloc will continue to fight against the fascist rule of the BJP led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“We will take appropriate steps at the appropriate time to realise the people’s desire not to be ruled by the BJP’s government,” the Rajya Sabha MP said. He said all leaders of the INDI alliance also thanked the people of the country for their overwhelming support to them. The meeting was attended by Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, Samajwadi Party’s Akhilesh Yadav and Ramgopal Yadav, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav, JKNC’s Omar Abdullah, AAP’s Sanjay Singh, Sharad Pawar and Supriya Sule from NCP (SP), Sanjay Raut from SS (UBT), Kalpana Soren and Jharkhand Champai Soren from JMM and other alliance leaders.
