New Delhi, Dec 4 (FN Agency) Samajwadi Party Chief and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday condemned the stopping of Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi from going to Sambhal and asked the BJP-ruled UPgovernment as to what it was hiding. Talking to reporters at the Parliament House premises, Yadav said, “From the very beginning, everyone including the Samajwadi Party and the common people have been saying, whatever the administration has done in Sambhal has been done at the instruction of the BJP”. He said, “When everyone agreed to the survey it was conducted peacefully. A second survey was only conducted as the first survey went off peacefully. The BJP did not take any action on those who were raising slogans.
They are not allowing any political delegation to visit Sambhal. After all what are they trying to hide?” Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi on his social media handle X said, “The police stopped us from going to Sambhal. Being the leader of the Opposition, it is my right and duty to go there. Yet I was stopped”. He further said, “I am ready to go alone, but they did not agree to that either. This is against the Constitution. Why is the BJP scared, why is it using its police to hide its failure? Why is it suppressing the message of truth brotherhood?” Earlier in the day, a Congress delegation led by Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, along with Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was stopped at the Uttar Pradesh border in Ghaziabad on Wednesday.
