UP Govt responsible for Hathras stampede incident: alleges Akhilesh

Lucknow, July 4 (FN Agency) Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday alleged that the state government and administration is negligent in the Hathras stampede tragedy. In a statement issued here, he said that the government and the administration knows that whenever such events take place, a large number of people come. “The government had the information, but despite that, necessary arrangements were not made,” the SP President said.He alleged that the government is responsible for the lives lost due to negligence. “Lives could have been saved but the government could not arrange for ambulances and vehicles. The injured who reached the hospital for treatment did not get adequate treatment. Neither medicines nor oxygen were available. There was no arrangement to save people. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government is responsible for all this,” Yadav said. The SP chief said that the BJP government talks about becoming Vishwa Guru in the world.

“It makes big claims that India has become the fifth largest economy in the world, it is going to become the third economy, but the truth is that this government cannot provide proper treatment to the people in an emergency. It cannot provide any facility to the people,” he said. He said that the BJP government has ruined the entire system. “What kind of economy is this where there is no hospital, no medicine, no treatment and no oxygen. All the claims of the BJP government are false. There is nothing but lies and loot in this government. Corruption is at its peak. There is corruption in every department and everywhere,” he alleged. Akhilesh said that if permission was for 50,000 people to attend the satsang, but if more people came then what was the administration doing? Why did it not stop them? If more people were coming then why did the administration not increase the force? Why did it not increase the barricading? Because of the government, oxygen was not available, medicines were not available. Treatment was not available. Because of the government, people lost their lives. The government should not put its responsibility on others,” he said.
