TPCC chief strongly criticises the BRS regime in scathing remarks

Hyderabad, Nov 3 (Representative) A Revanth Reddy, the President of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) and a Member of Parliament (MP), on Friday expressed his strong disapproval of the BRS party, led by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR). Speaking at the “Meet the Press” programme here, Reddy alleged that the citizens who elected it now live in fear. He contended that the rule of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) has left the youth, farmers, and women questioning its impact. Criticising the KCR government, Reddy emphasized that the Congress party is advancing with a clear plan and a vision for 2050. He accused KCR of betraying people from all walks of life in Telangana, including journalists who have been targeted. Reddy claimed that governance in the state took a different turn after KCR’s rise to power, with limited access for public forums and opposition leaders. He pointed out that media restrictions and access limitations have been imposed. In Reddy’s view, KCR’s leadership exhibits authoritarianism, and he went as far as labeling KCR as a political offender. Reddy criticised the quality of infrastructure projects, stating that “projects were built without quality.”

He also highlighted the issue of the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) paper leakage, which has created uncertainty for the unemployed. Reddy emphasised on the unfulfilled promises made by KCR and called for accountability while condemning those who have betrayed Telangana’s aspirations. He stated that the Telangana movement was an historical event held on water, funding and appointments as well as fears of dominance by the Seemandhra region. He credited Sonia Gandhi for the creation of Telangana, even when the Congress party knew it would suffer politically. According to Reddy, Sonia’s decision to grant Telangana was an act of justice and righteousness. Furthermore, TPCC Chief Revanth Reddy has challenged other parties, including the ruling BRS Party, to abstain from alcohol and money in the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections. He stressed the need to focus on the election procedures and highlighted the welfare initiatives brought by the Congress Party, such as pensions and pucca houses.

Reddy emphasised on the Congress’s commitment to the welfare of minorities, journalists, and education for the poor. Reddy also pointed out the closure of 6,540 single teacher schools during KCR’s tenure. Regarding the upcoming elections on November 30, Reddy challenged the ten-year rule of BRS and the Congress. He called for a fair and open debate with representatives from all parties. Reddy expressed his vision for the development of Hyderabad, aiming to make it an investment city and enhance the city’s infrastructure and connectivity. He mentioned ongoing discussions about potential alliances with communists and accused the government of acting as brokers through the Dharani portal, particularly members of KCR’s family. In response to a question, Reddy suggested the formation of a committee to address the issues faced by journalists if the Congress comes to power in the upcoming elections, slated for November 30, 2023.
