Agartala, April 29 (Agency) After a year of its re-entry into Tripura politics in May last year, Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee on Friday announced a 130 members Jambo state committee headed by BJP turned Trinamool leader and steering committee member Subal Bhowmik. Announcing the committee, TMC Tripura in charge Rajib Banerjee said, Rajya Sabha MP Susmita Dev along with other senior leaders a six-member core committee has been constituted along with four frontal wings of the party. He said that the party took little longer time to constitute the committee because it spent more time on groundwork to strengthen the base. But, TMC is prepared now to fight back against the misrule of BJP Tripura and to counter the ruling front in upcoming assembly elections. He pointed out that TMC has been working at the grass-root level for a year after Mamata Banerjee led the Trinamool Congress government came to power for the third time in a row. Unfortunately, Biplab Kumar Deb led BJP government resorted to all undemocratic steps to prevent Trinamool Congress in Tripura.
“Series of false cases were implicated against TMC leaders including its national general secretary Abhishiek Banerjee before last urban bodies election in Tripura. TMC was the only party which had fought in all 51 Wards of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) and was able to secure 24 per cent of vote despite relentless violence and attacks,” Banerjee said. He asserted that TMC under the leadership of Subal Bhowmik in Tripura would launch a democratic movement across the state against the misrule of the Biplab Deb government, as the incumbent government has failed to ensure the socio-economic condition of the people. The criminals have been moving freely and getting protection from the ruling party leaders and police. Corruption has become a daily phenomenon in Tripura under BJP’s rule and attacks and atrocities become a routine activity in Tripura from where the people of the state want to get relief and that can only be given by Trinamool.
