Sisodia deserves Bharat Ratna: Kejriwal

Ahmedabad, Aug 22 (Representative) Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday said Manish Sisodia should be given a ‘Bharat Ratna’ for reforms introduced in the education system in Delhi, amid ongoing probe against him by CBI in the Delhi excise policy matter. At a Town Hall meeting here, the Delhi Chief Minister accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of targeting Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders. He lauded Sisodia for his work as Delhi’s Education Minister, and said he deserves Bharat Ratna for it. “A person like Manish Sisodia should be handed over the whole education system of the country. He has performed a miracle in five years,” Kejriwal said. “The work which traditional parties could not do in 70 years, he could do that… He reformed the government schools, gave students a bright future…

They don’t feel ashamed of ordering a CBI probe on such a person,” he said. “A person like him should be given Bharat Ratna,” he said. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi should call Sisodia and consult him on education reforms. “All communities are angry with the BJP because of this, whether it is Rajput, Brahmis, Baniyas, SC, ST… rich or poor, men and women, all are upset that Sisodia is being falsely implicated… He will be arrested in a few days,” he Delhi CM added. He added that the education system would suffer if Sisodia is arrested. “Would that help the country?” he questioned. Earlier, as Satyendra Jain was taken into custody by the Enforcement Directorate, Kejriwal had said he deserves a Padma Vibhushan for establishing mohalla clinics in Delhi.
