Shiv Sena to hold 3-day long ‘rising inflation’ protest against Centre

Aurangabad, Nov 9 (Agency) Shiv Sena on Tuesday announced a series of agitations, including a Sanjay Raut-led grand rally on November 13, against the BJP-led Centre over rising inflation. Addressing a press conference here, Aurangabad district Sena chief and MLC Ambadas Danve said, “The general public is outraged by the rising cost of living while the Modi government’s anti-inflation promises made during 2014 polls have gone to dust.” “The common man is exhausted as the prices have shot up in every sector; be it essential commodities, construction materials, chemical fertilizers, B-seeds and so on. The people are fed up with the skyrocketing rates,” he asserted.

“Hence, Shiv Sena will take to the streets to express the anger of the people affected by the price hike,” he vowed. Elaborating about the protests planned, he told, “Tomorrow, an anti-inflation signature campaign has been organised in Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samitis of this district. On November 11, an unique agitation will be carried out by party’s women wing at different places.” “While on November 13, a huge march will be carried out from Kranti Chowk to Gulmandi under the leadership of Mr Raut,” he apprised. “EGS Minister Sandipan Bhumare, Minister of State Abdul Sattar, MLAs Manisha Kayande and Pradip Jaiswal, and senior leader Chandrakant Khaire will participate in the protest,” he added.
