Setback for Cong in Delhi as two Councillors jump ship

New Delhi, Dec 9 (FN Agency) The Congress which was decimated to a single digit in the recently concluded Delhi Municipal Corporation polls, on Friday received another setback as two of its newly elected Councillors shifted their allegiance to the AAP.

Sabila Begum from Mustafabad ward and Nazia Khatoon of Brijpuri, have officially joined the AAP at the party headquarters here on Friday. Congress’ Minority Unit’s Chairman and Vice President Ali Mehdi also switched over to the AAP. Welcoming them to the party, AAP MLA Durgesh Pathak said, “These Cong members are impressed by the policies of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and joined AAP with an aim to participate in development and make the city clean.”
