Sambhal violence was well-planned conspiracy to disrupt harmony: Akhilesh Yadav

New Delhi, Dec 3 (FN Agency) Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday raised the Sambhal violence issue in the Lok Sabha alleging it to be a “well-planned conspiracy to disrupt the harmony”. Raising the issue during the Zero Hour in the house, Akhilesh said that the violence claimed five innocent lives and demanded filing of murder charges against the police and the administration. He said, “Sambhal is known for its harmony and brotherhood and bullets were fired on the people. The violence in Sambhal was a well-planned conspiracy. BJP and its allies have been trying to spoil the communal harmony of Sambhal, the SP leader alleged.The Lok Sabha MP from Kannauj said that on the orders of the court, the survey of Shahi Jama Masjid in Sambhal was completed, in which the people associated with the mosque fully cooperated.

But on November 23, a survey was done there again, during which five people lost their lives and dozens of people were injured in the violence. e demanded strict action against those responsible for the violence and also an investigation on the role of the police officers and personnel deployed there. The SP chief also demanded action against those who went against the Constitution and committed illegal acts in the Sambhal case and said that immediate measures should be taken to maintain brotherhood. Meanwhile, IUML member ET Muhammed Basheer too raised the Sambhal issue during the Zero Hour. Expressing concern over the Sambhal incident, he said, “Peaceful co-existence is becoming very difficult these days and we have to protect secularism”. After five days of adjournment, the Lok Sabha on Tuesday took up the business.
