Pune, June 7 (FN Agency) There is a possibility of the President’s Rule being imposed in Maharashtra by the Central government after the Rajya Sabha elections, scheduled to be held on June 10, Hemant Patil, President of India Against Corruption, said on Monday. He said the total strength of Maharashtra Assembly was 288. Out of these, Shiv Sena has 55 MLAs, NCP 53, Congress 44 and BJP 106. Many Ministers have given trouble to BJP leaders, including Devendra Fadnavis, after the MVA government came to power in Maharashtra. The ruling dispensation has not even bothered to take complaints of BJP workers on many occasions, said Patil.
On the other hand, BJP government at the Centre has ordered CBI and ED inquiry against two Ministers of MVA government- Anil Deshmukh and Nawab Malik on corruption charges. Both the Ministers are in jail at the moment. He said this election will be very interesting as it is first time in more than two decades that the state will see election to the Upper House of Parliament and said that BJP has support of other smaller parties, apart from independents.
