No discussion for alliance with any party so far: TIPRA Motha

Agartala, Feb 16 (Agency) Setting aside the speculation of forging an alliance with Congress, Tripura royal scion and Chief of TIPRA Motha – the ruling party of Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (ADC) Pradyot Kishore Debbarman claimed that they have not yet initiated discussion for an alliance with any party so far. “TPRA Motha is not pondering over forming an alliance with any political party right now as no party has come up to discuss Greater Tipraland and a constitutional solution to the demand. No matter how much is being discussed outside, it is nothing but propaganda,” Pradyot said.

Recently, AICC in-charge of Tripura and Rajya Sabha MP Dr Ajoy Kumar claimed that the discussion for the alliance with TIPRA Motha had been progressing well and Congress has also considered a framework to pursue the demand of TIPRA and very soon they will come into an agreement. However, Deputy Chief Executive Member of ADC and a senior leader of TIPRA Motha Animesh Debbarma said political party that agrees with the demand for a Greater Tipraland or have specific commitments to the overall development of the indigenous population will be consulted openly. Debbarma stated parties interested to form an alliance with us must have a detailed discussion. And the meeting must not be held through the back door and added, “We want a constitutional solution for our people and whoever is ready to give in writing, we are open to talk.”
