New Delhi, Jan 17 (Agency) Amid the speculations that former Uttarakhand Minister Harak Singh Rawat will join the grand old party, Congress spokesperson Gourav Vallabh on Monday categorically said the party is yet to take a call in this regard. “Congress is an ‘inclusive’ party. Congress Uttarakhand in-charge and Pradesh Congress Committee president and senior leaders will deliberate into it and take a decision at the right time. Very soon it will be clear,” Vallabh said, while addressing a virtual press conference, in response to a question on expelled BJP leader, Rawat joining the party.
On Sunday, BJP expelled Rawat from the party for six years accusing him of ‘indiscipline’. He was also dismissed from Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami-led Cabinet. He also exuded confidence that the Congress would win the forthcoming Assembly elections in the Himalayan state and form the government. “Congress will win the upcoming Assembly elections in Uttarakhand. We will form the government,” the Congress spokesperson said. Assembly elections in Uttarakhand will be held on February 14. The counting of votes will take place on March 10. Referring to Assembly elections in other states, he added: “In Goa and Punjab, BJP leaders are leaving the party. We will form government in both the states as well.”
