NCP keen to contest LS polls in constituencies with strong base: Maha chief

Mumbai, Mar 6 (FN Agency) The party workers feel that they should fight upcoming Lok Sabha elections in those constituencies where NCP has a strong base, said Sunil Tatkare, Maharashtra party president and MP, on Tuesday. He made this remark in a two-day meeting of the party organised to review Lok Sabha constituencies in the state. Six LS constituencies were reviewed on first day today including Nashik, Dindori, South Mumbai, Hingoli, Dharashiv and Raigad. It has been decided that NCP will contest the Raigad Lok Sabha seat with help of their alliance partner Shiv Sena.

“We are going to face this election with determination of winning 45 plus seats. The people of Maharashtra will stand firmly behind the Mahayuti in upcoming Lok Sabha elections,” he said. Tatkare also said that NCP is insisting on the Baramati Lok Sabha seat. “If they get to contest this seat, then Ms Sunetra Ajit Pawar will be their official candidate,” he replied to a query. Ajit Pawar has contributed immensely to overall development of Baramati over past 40 years, he said and added that the result will be seen in upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
