Mumbai, Jun 22 (FN Bureau) Calling the state government’s recent order of dismissal of the daily and hourly employees of the tribal ashram schools as ‘unfair’, Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Nana Patole on Wednesday demanded that the government should immediately cancel the same and regularise them into service. In a letter to state Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, he stated that the government’s notice, dated 25 May 2023, of dismissal of the daily and hourly employees of classes 3 and 4 of the tribal ashram schools is unfair, as these workers are working in remote areas on meagre wages.
Due to this unjust order, these employees are at risk of being unemployed and thus. are potentially staring at starvation. Stating that Birsa Brigade’s (Sahyadri) demand for cancellation of this order as legible, MPCC chief chief said, “It is not right for the government to lay off anyone when the people are suffering from inflation and unemployment.” “For years these employees have been working with the hope that the government will continue to serve them. Instead of retaining them in service, these tribal brothers are being deprived of their employment,” he averred. Patole said that Chief Minister Shinde should pay immediate attention into this matter and rescind this unjust government notice and accommodate the tribal brothers in the service, he added.
