Lucknow, Feb 25 (Agency) Controversial and outspoken politician Subramanian Swamy on Friday slammed the Narendra Modi government for showing what he called the ‘lack of morality’ by remaining silent on Russia’s attack on Ukraine. The Rajya Sabha MP said “The senseless bombing by the Russian of Ukraine’s soft targets is a detestable act of utter cruelty. As the saying goes, “go pick someone of your size” such as the US.
India’s silence at this juncture shows the lack of morality in the current leadership of this ancient cultural land,” he said. He also stated that Russian people should urge Putin to not bully defenceless Ukraine. “Russian people should urge TDK [alumni of the same school as Putin], to call Putin and ask him not to bully a defenceless Ukraine. Otherwise when senior Xi, Pak Army [Imran won’t be around soon], and junior Putin collaborate to dismember Kashmir as they did with Crimea, India will suffer,” he wrote. The Ukraine government has said 137 people have already been killed in the Russian attack. The Indian government is trying to evacuate Indian citizens who are trapped in Ukraine amid the escalating crisis.
