Modi Govt discriminating against non-BJP ruled states: HP Minister

New Delhi, Feb 23 (FN Bureau) The Revenue Minister of Himachal Pradesh Jagat Singh Negi today accused the Narendra Modi Government of discriminating against the non-BJP ruled states by depriving them of their dues claims and in the devolution of funds. Participating in the Budget discussion Negi said that right from 2014 onwards Himachal Pradesh has been slipping into economic distress as the Narendra Modi government cut down the due share of the state under article 280 of the Indian Constitution. He said that under Article 280 there is the provision of the Planning Commission. However, it was abolished by the Modi government, which created a “puppet organisation “Niti Ayog in place of the Planning Commission and it was not releasing funds to the state now. He said that never since 1947 any state’s Chief Minister along with his council of ministers had to sit on dharna before seeking its due share of funds from the central government. Terming it a major challenge to the country’s integrity, he said “step-motherly treatment by the centre has created a divide in the country:.

He said the Supreme Court of India came to the rescue of democracy as it set aside the Electoral bond. He challenged the Modi Government to explain from where Rs 1000 Crore came in the BJP’s account. Participating in the Budget discussion BJP member Satpal Singh Sati said that Congress should not accus former CM Jai Ram Thakur of leaving the state under huge debt and indulging in huge borrowing. Sati said that the Congress Government failed to manage the health services in the state as most of the ventilators deployed during the Covid are now lying unused and patients are being referred to PGI. Sati said that BJP deployed a large number of ultra modern equipment in the harrowing time of the Covid pandemic to upgrade the health services. But the health services have now derailed.
