Modi does politics for people’s welfare: Shah

New Delhi, May 11 (Agency) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi does politics for the welfare of the people, not for votes. “Modiji takes decisions which are for people’s welfare. He doesn’t do politics for votes. His speciality is his immense love for Dalit, tribal, poor and backwards,” Shah said in his address at the launch of a book, “Modi@20: Dreams Meet Delivery”, in the presence of Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and others.

Lauding the Prime Minister, Shah said: “People witnessed the change brought by Modiji as PM of the country and as Chief Minister of Gujarat. I have never seen a big listener than Modiji. He patiently listens to everyone. He moved ahead by considering society as his family.” Recalling Modi’s contribution for Gujarat, the Minister said: “After Modiji became the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he had set an example before the people how schemes can be made for the last person and ensured its implementation.

“Before Modiji became the Chief Minister, he did not fight any election nor was he a member of the panchayat. His ability of understanding the problems with sensitivity and finding a solution made him a successful Chief Minister.” Shah said: “The earlier government was called a policy paralysis government. In the last eight years, Modi has provided a lot of material for study in front of the world on how policies are decided.” On foreign policy, he said: “Modiji’s foreign policy is very clear that we want to keep friendship with everyone by giving top most priority to the country’s security.”
