LS adjourned for day, Rijiju slams Congress

New Delhi, Dec 10 (Agency) Stalemate continued in Parliament as both Houses have been adjourned for the day on Tuesday amid ruckus over the Adani bribery and Congress-George Soros links issues.As Lok Sabha convened, Speaker Om Birla addressed the disruptions that have plagued proceedings in recent days.”All the members must maintain the decorum of the house and work towards fulfillment of aspirations and expectations of the people” he said. “Our democracy reflects the hopes and aspirations of the people. Maintaining the dignity of this House is our collective responsibility,” Birla said. However, opposition MP’s resumed their protests as Question Hour began, prompting Birla to adjourn the House until noon, and later adjourned for the day.Slamming the Congress over the disruption in Lok Sabha, Parliament Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said “Opposition should apologise for wasting the time of the House. “Kiren Rijiju hit out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, saying while MPs from other parties like TMC, SP want to engage in Parliament debate and discussion, Rahul Gandhi wants to bring the proceedings to a standstill by creating “tamasha”.

Referring to Rahul Gandhi’s mock interview along with colleagues sporting Adani and PM Modi masks, the minister said that the Congress leader has “nothing to lose because he can’t feel people’s pain and problems. “Speaking during the zero hours, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey raised the alleged link of Sonia Gandhi with George Soros saying, ” I will again raise the issue of Soros. The way Congress divided the nation with foreign powers, they are trying to do the same again. They have to answer my 10 questions. “Earlier, the Opposition INDIA bloc MPs held a protest at Parliament House complex over alleged bribery charges against a prominent Indian business group.Congress, DMK, JMM and Left joined the protest. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi, JMM leader Mahua Maji, DMK leader Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, and others participated in the protest.
