Bengaluru, July 23 (FN Bureau) In a groundbreaking move aimed at revolutionising India’s economic infrastructure, Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Steel HD Kumaraswamy on Tuesday hailed the Union Budget for its ambitious plans to develop 12 new industrial corridors, including key routes such as Bengaluru-Chennai and Hyderabad-Bengaluru. Describing the budget as “visionary and far-reaching,” Kumaraswamy stressed on the transformative potential of these corridors in driving employment and economic growth across the country. Kumaraswamy praised Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for her seventh consecutive budget, highlighting the strategic allocation of Rs 1.48 lakh crore towards education, employment, and skills development. This significant investment aims to create 4 crore jobs and optimise human resources, underscoring the budget’s commitment to comprehensive development.
The former Chief Minister lauded the budget’s focus on empowering women, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and advancing agricultural research and development. With plans to extend the digital survey of agricultural crops to 400 districts and promote natural farming, the budget addresses critical areas of agricultural productivity and food security. The Minister welcomed the budget’s emphasis on research, innovation, and collaborative industrial development between central and state governments.
