Wanaparthy (Telangana), Sep 29 (Representative) Telangana Minister of IT and Industry, K. T. Rama Rao (KTR), has lauded Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) as the sole leader providing unwavering support to farmers through the Rythu Bandhu scheme.During the foundation stone-laying ceremony for the Oil Farm factory in Sankireddy Pally within this district on Friday, KTR emphasized that Palamuru signifies “Nadu (Earlier) Migration Today Irrigation,” while acknowledging that Sasyasyamalam (carpet of greenery) is a joint district with Palamuru Ranga Reddy. He expressed optimism in Palamuru farmers’ ability to achieve remarkable feats in the future.KCR’s forward-thinking approach involves promoting alternative crops to ensure the sustainability of agriculture. Recognizing the possibility of farmers shifting away from traditional crops, the government is actively reinforcing agriculture through crop rotation.
Agriculture Minister Niranjan Reddy and MLA Alla Venkateshwar Reddy are leading by example, personally cultivating oil palm to understand the challenges and losses involved. Their initiative is commendable as they provide crucial insights to the government.In order to encourage oil palm cultivation, the government is collaborating with 14 companies and will establish accessible factories to support farmers. During the four years of oil palm growth, intercrops can be cultivated, leading to an annual income of over one lakh.KTR stressed the importance of diversifying from rice cultivation, with a focus on modern agriculture. He also mentioned the deployment of 2601 Agricultural Extension Officers with Rythuvedics support and expressed confidence BRS in coming to power for a third term under the leadership of KCR.Minister Niranjan Reddy highlighted KCR’s commitment to agriculture, especially through crop rotation, and the promotion of oil palm cultivation.
The country’s annual demand for oil amounts to 22 million tonnes, most of which is imported. The government has allocated zones to companies for oil palm cultivation, covering thousands of acres in just two years. The pest-resistant nature of oil palm makes it a viable choice.He said, the first factory in Ankireddypally, Palamuru district, spanning 40 acres, will further bolster oil palm cultivation. The government is determined to encourage farmers to adopt oil palm cultivation to meet the factory’s needs.To strengthen agriculture, the government has undertaken initiatives such as 100% electricity purchase, irrigation water availability, Rythu Bandhu, and Rythu Bhima, he added.The meeting also saw the participation of MPs Manne Srinivas Reddy, Potuganti Ramulu, MLA Alla Venkateshwar Reddy, Corporation Chairman Rajani Saichand, and Valya Naik.
